Nowowiejski’s four Concertos for solo organ Op.56 were composed by 1941 while he was in exile in Krakov. No.1 is featured on this CD and is autobiographical in character, reflecting the composer’s difficult circumstances during the war. Rudolf Innig has recorded numerous CDs and has won many prizes including the Echo Classical Prize in 1999
